Atmospheric appeal, residential sensibility, and artful inspiration are the key concepts that emerged to influence E Madison’s design. Interpreted architecturally, those concepts are visible in the club’s scale, spatial planning, and detailing. Upon entry, E Madison sheds the ubiquitous commercial glass storefront for custom, solid mahogany doors that create an intimate residential foyer reminiscent of those found in the Upper East Side. This residential sensibility, evidenced upon entry, is woven throughout the space in the selection of finishes including curved wood and plaster walls, marble/wood floors, furniture, amenities such as filtered water taps, dual fire places, heated floors and artwork. Special to E Madison Avenue is its art program which evokes a personal, not commercial, fine art collection. E Madison’s art program showcases five contemporary artists in varying media; among the artists are: Johnny Abrahams, Sam Lock, Carrie Crawford, Joanne Byrne, and Wanda Koop. The restrained use of contemporary art coupled with thoughtful architecture distinguishes E Madison from other projects.
